Out of the blue, and maybe for the Grizzlies too? Deal wouldn’t have happened exactly like this if the earlier Porzingis deal hadn’t fallen through.

I like this version of the trade better for Boston, though I’m still definitely iffy on making a long-term commitment to Porzingis. I think Brogdon and White were both better than Smart last year, and getting the picks is obviously helpful. – 12:06 AM

A simple, positive outlook on the Porzingis trade for Boston:
Kristaps Porzingis averaged nearly as many points (23.2) as Al Horford, Robert Williams and Grant Williams combined last season (25.9). This fundamentally changes their offense in bigger ways than “KP shoots 3’s.” – 5:30 PM
Austin Krell @NBAKrell
I think other teams in the East inner circle of contenders should look at the Celtics getting Porzingis as an obvious upgrade in talent but a move that beats around the bush of their main problem.

The more I think about this trade, the more I like it for the Celtics.
Porzingis is capable of being the No. 2 scorer on many nights. He also gives Boston rim protection for when Robert Williams is hurt, and can pull other bigs away from the basket.
Also a pretty good passer. – 5:16 PM
Sam Quinn @SamQuinnCBS
Ironically, the team I would’ve liked Washington to trade Porzingis to was Phoenix. Built-in chemistry with Beal, and the best way to attack Jokic defensively is going five-out. An Ayton-KP swap would’ve made some sense for Phoenix, but wouldn’t really make sense for the Wiz. – 5:13 PM

The Kristaps Porzingis experience for Washington overall was pretty positive!
